Sales Associates from Coldwell Banker Prime Properties recently toured the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering on Washington Avenue in Albany. The college is the result of academia, government and industry joining forces to advance atomic scale knowledge. Our firm toured the facility so that we may better serve our clients moving to the area seeking employment in this field.
It was quite an impressive tour which included "clean rooms" and an explanation of the many technological advancements made possible by nanotechnology.
Smart phones, for example, employ nanotechnology; as do Curad "Silver" bandages. It's true, here's the explanation from the company's website: "Silver- How It Works: Silver inhibits the growth of bacteria by deactivating the bacteria's oxygen metabolism enzymes. In turn, this destroys the bacteria's cell membranes, stopping the replication of the bacteria's DNA". This is made possible by nanotechnology!
