THE FOLLOWING ARE PAM'S REMARKS IN HER OWN WORDS.... 

Hi Pete. When we bought the house in 1982, it was known as the 'Jesse Conde' house, as that was the man who originally bought the land and erected a small structure there approximately 12 x 20 feet. The property was deeded to Jesse Conde in 1823, hence the year of origin of the dwelling. However, at some point it was expanded in the 1920's and became a small cape cod style house. The house stayed that way until the 1970's when contractor Larry Ellis bought the property and began expanding it to be more suitable for his family. All that remains of the 1823 structure is the 12 x 20 stone foundation, and the exterior door which is now the entrance to the cellar. ( to be found in an interior hallway ) the present dining room, foyer, living room and downstairs bedroom remain from the 1920's addition. Most of the home that is now occupied consists of the addition in the 1970's. this includes the kitchen, sunken family room, and the entire upstairs consisting of a large loft, 3 large bedrooms and a full bath. all the baths were remodeled in 1990. While the house may be construed as being from 1823, in reality most of it is from the 1970's, but with the beams, brickwork and wide plank floors throughout which could have been found in a home of the early 19th century. Be prepared to step back in time around 180 -200 years...it really feels like you might have just come in from the fields, after being chased by some of the marauding bands and riding your horse all day through the blowing snow.  Come into the rustic barn wood family room with HUGE LOG BURNING FIREPLACE and hand hewn barn beam mantle...shuck off your cold wet boots and stand in front of the roaring fire.  Warm your bones, and prepare for a hearty meal from the kitchen (remodeled in 2008+-).  After a bit of pre-dinner activities, settle into one of your favorite chairs in the generous size formal dining room where all the family and a few friends are waiting.  At the proper moment, the chef brings the turkey with all the trimmings, and, the holidays are under way!

Now, of course, you won't spend the entire day of Thanksgiving running away from the bad boys, however, in the days this house was first built, just such a day might have been spent.  You can imagine someone...the head of the household...out protecting the family, just as you do each and every day.  You drive a car with a phone in your pocket and bluetooh thru the car speakers, but, other than that, things are pretty much the same.

Now, is your time...your opportunity to experience that which very few folks can.  The home which was originally about 240 square feet of living space, was rebuilt in the mid to late 1970s which really makes it about 37 years old.  It offers, however, a history unavailable in any other now on the market.  It offers the best of the modern world, and a strong link to the past.  The past of our great nation.
