Manlius Real Estate Information
Manlius is a town east of the city of Syracuse, on the eastern edge of Onondaga County, NY. At the 2000 census the population of Manlius was 31,872. The population was projected to have increased to 32,029 in 2009, qualifying it as the third largest suburb in the metropolitan Syracuse area.
Manlius was ranked #98 on CNN Money's list of Best Places to Live in 2005. Fayetteville, Manlius and Minoa are all villages within the town of Manlius.
The villages name was also the name of several significant Romans, but the actual “Manlius” honored by the town’s name is currently unknown. The first settlers arrived in Manlius around the year 1790.
The town was developed in 1794, thanks to the immense amount of trade generated by the Erie Canal.
