An ounce of maintenance goes a long way

How many of you look at that change oil light and think, "Hey, I can go a few more days". Then you realize that its 6 months later and you have destroyed your engine. A simple 20-30 dollar oil change would have saved you the hardship of replacing an engine.

The same is true with your home. Spend the time and money every month to maintain your investment. Trim back trees to prevent them from falling through your roof. This will also prevent mold and moss from growing on the side of your home. Clean your gutters so they actually work as designed. The following link is from HouseLogic.com and gives a quick overview of how you should be maintaining your home. Create that habit of maitenance and you will see the return when the time comes to sell your home.
