Outdoor Adventure in the Catskill Mountains

Welcome to the land of waterfalls, slumbering legends, artistic mavericks, mountain climbers and daring adventurers. Welcome to Greene County, a close-to-home vacation destination offering big mountain hiking experiences, high-flying sky-riding and epic waterfalls cascading down the Catskill Mountains.

From ice climbing the frozen steeps outside of Tannersville on Route 23A, to winter hiking expeditions on some of the region's most popular trails, winter in the Great Northern Catskills is anything but an excuse to head inside. Snowmobile rentals and guided tours explore the backcountry, while cross country ski and snowshoeing trails abound.

From mountain biking in the backcountry, to road cycling around the river towns, experience the freedom of wide open trails, narrow switchbacks and scenic country routes. Then head to Hunter Mountain for the pinnacle of adventure travel in the Catskills, the New York Zipline Canopy Tour, a heart-pounding thrill-ride that can only be described with the words highest, fastest and longest.

Enjoy hiking trails in the Catskill Park that lead deep into the mountains, fish wild streams and the mighty Hudson River, or kayak on North-South Lake. Pursue the freedom of nature, and the blank canvas of discovery in the Great Northern Catskills of Greene County!
