Welcome to the Spring Market in Upstate New York! The inventory is increasing and the buyers are calling. What will it take to get your home sold? Aside from the obvious...an excellent, experienced agent with a supportive real estate company and proper pricing, home staging is crucial.
You only have one chance to make a good first impression! I visited a home the other day to give a price opinion to some people who were thinking about selling this year. I thought their home had been professionally staged. I was shocked to learn that the homeowner had done all the work herself. She had watched the television shows and duplicated the staging ideas and her home showed beautifully. The table was set; the house decluttered and freshly painted. There was no evidence of their dog in sight and it was hard to believe that 5 people lived in the home. Great job!
If you have neither the time nor the talent to "stage" your home for a quick and profitable sale, hire a home stager. Every time you reduce your sale price, it costs you $5000 to $10,000. A stager is so much cheaper and definitely worth the investment.
The video below will give you an example of how a nicely set dining room table will have buyers picturing themselves entertaining in their new home (which by the way is the home you are selling!).
