Getting your Car Ready for Winter - Part 5 of 6 Sinple steps
Checking Your Brake Fluid
When: Check your break fluid at every oil change. Check your owners' manual for suggestions as to how often, and flush-the-system of contaminants every two (2) years.
Why: This fluid transfers your foot pressure from the pedal to the stopping-power of your vehicle. Your venicle must have an adquate supply of clean fluid for correct stopping operation. Old, low, or contaminated fluid can allow air to enter the system and prevent proper stopping of the vehicle.
