In the past few years, we have experienced a challenging real estate market. During that time, many homeowners who considered moving decided to wait until there was an uptick in the market and the economy.
The good news is, as a seasoned real estate professional, I am thrilled to report a very positive outlook for homeowners who are interested in putting their house on the market.
- Pending Home Sales index in January 2013 improved 4.5%, which signals improvement for the housing market.
- In December 2012, home prices nationwide, including distressed sales, increased on a year-over-year basis by 8.3% compared to December 2011. (This change represents the biggest increase since May 2006 and the 10th consecutive monthly increase in home prices nationally).
Currently, the inventory of homes for sale in Central New York is low, and I am hearing from both real estate agents and prospective buyers that they are unable to find the type of home that meets their criteria currently for sale.
If you are one of the homeowners who were waiting for a favorable market to sell in order to get the best value, please contact me via email, text, or phone call for more information or to schedule an appointment.
