For seller clients, my unique approach of accurate pricing to the market, Staging to sell and an individual internet focused marketing plan has enabled me to acheive an average days on market of 23 compared with MLS average of 91, and a sales price to list price of 98.3% while the MLS was 95.2%. In 2009, 100% of my listings sold.

For buyer clients, by listening to my clients, using my knowledge of inventory, financing and negotiation skills, I empower my clients to make informed, satisfying decisions.

I love what I do and get great satisfaction from helping people achieve the next step in their lives whether a first time home buyer, a growing family looking for more space, a transferred executive, seniors who no longer need all that space and are looking for a different type of living with less maintenance, or a single parent looking for a home of their own.

It is a wonderful feeling to be at that closing table and see the excitement/relief/delight and anticipation in my client’s eyes as they take the next step. I’m grateful to my clients for their trust in me and for the opportunity to play a role in an important time in their lives. Change is both exciting and stressful and I am particularly sensitive to the challenges of relocating as I have traveled extensively in the US and Europe and made 11 moves and owned 9 homes myself.

Prior to my real estate career I have had enjoyed a financial planning and tax practice (earning the CFP and EA designations) as a trusted advisor for individuals, families and small business owners. And, I have extensive senior management experience with leading technology companies having begun my professional life in engineering and computer science in Silicon Valley. All of this has helped this former nerd to be detail oriented, seek creative solutions, become a skillful negotiator and stay light on my feet juggling many priorities and deadlines. And, of course, I learned flexibility as a wife and mother of three (especially during those teenage years).

Personal Background

A native of the Capital District I have traveled and lived in several cities in the US and I’m glad to be back to stay. I adopted three kids as a single parent over 20 years ago and later married my Desert Storm pen pal Bill Hall. Today my 2 youngest “20 somethings” Cris and Vanessa live with us along with our 2 dogs and 2 cats all adopted from a shelter. Our home is a mix of very traditional furniture and some cherished antiques and multiple computers, monitors and roadrunner in every room. We have lots of extended family near by and in between visits my 87 year old mother sends me email and has her own Facebook page. ( below: my daughter Vanessa and Muffy - our version of the Coldwell Banker dog)

Interests

Reading, scrapbooking, cooking, web-related research and new technologies and staging and rearranging the contents of my house and everyone elses.

Community Involvement

I have always believed in giving back to the community whether in formal ways as a past board member of Hillside Children’s Foundation and Safe Journeys, or in informal ways such as stuffing backpacks for a woman’s shelter as part of a woman’s group of the Chamber of Commerce and collecting for the Marine Corps Toys For Tots drive.

In the business community, I am an active member of the Southern Saratoga Chamber of Commerce, the Albany/Colonie Chamber of Commerce, Secretary of the Capital District Women's Council of Realtors, and the International Council of Home Staging Professionals

Education

I was educated locally with a BA in Math from Russell Sage and completed a MS in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University. Professionally, I have earned the Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation focused on mature home owners, and I am an Accredited Staging Professional ™. I have also completed the 120 hours of education and professional requirements to earn the New York State Brokers license.
