U.S. sales of new homes jumped last month to the highest level in more than two years. Though new homes represent only a small portion of the housing market, they have a disproportionate impact on the economy. Each home built creates an average of three jobs for a year and generates about $90,000 in tax revenue, according to statistics from the National Association of Home Builders.
As the availability of new construction and the number of new home sales increase, the challenge for the seller of an existing home become greater. It is vitally important that homeowners have their homes updated and spruced up before putting them on the market.
If you are getting ready to list your home for sale, your home needs to be in as "mint" condition as possible to compete. Young buyers today are looking for homes that are move-in ready.
