Own a little piece of history

532 3rd Ave in Lansingburgh.  Not only is this impressive Victorian something to see, there's also a bit of history to this property.  Noted in "Images in America, Lansingburg," a book by Don Rittner, the Anthony Augustus Peebles home once stood on the corner.  Aaron Burr was supposedly hidden here for some time after his famous duel with Alexander Hamilton in 1804.

The Capital Region is home to some notable figures in American history.  Uncle Sam, being one of them.  Martin Van Buren called Kinderhook home.  Chester Arthur (the 21st President) spent some time in Lansingburgh, too.  For more facts on this interesting "burgh," check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lansingburgh,_New_York

Getting back to this magnificent 4,300 square foot home, it's truly something to see.  The seller has put so many updates into this home. Four year old roof, newer 75 gallon water heater (for the new jacuzzi tub!), updated electrical and plumbing. This Rensselaer county home features updated bathrooms and an updated kitchen with granite counters, new cabinets, a butler's pantry, dual stair cases, gorgeous custom wood moldings, built-in cabinets and hardwood floors throughout.   Spacious, sunny three season room.  Unfinished third floor has 1,000 sq feet of unfinished living space with separate stairway entrance.  Some windows have been replaced. 1st floor laundry room. Subdividable side lot. Fenced yard. Corner lot.
