Personal Background

People ask me how I got into the real estate industry and I think it's important to know what inspires the people with whom you transact business.

When I was 22 and newlywed, I wanted the American Dream. I knew that to get there, you have to do some work. So my husband and I scrimped and saved and lived on a budget for what felt like forever. After about three years we were fortunate enough to be ready to buy our first house.

Unfortunately, my husband and I were treated very poorly throughout our transaction. The real estate agent didn't take the time to understand what we wanted or needed, he threw us in his car and showed us properties he felt we could afford. When we finally found a house and went to for our mortgtage, we didn't know better, didn't get counseling and ended up paying WAY too much for our loan. And when we went to sell a few years later, we were rushed through the process with NOTHING explained to us.

To this day I remember those events and they color the way I treat all of my clients. My goal is to give First Class Service to everyone with whom I work and to always surround myself with the leading professionals in the real estate industry.

Toys for Tots--The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted

Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. Nearly 33,000 members belong to more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 67 countries. I am proud to be a member of our Schenectady Chapter.

Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake PTA--The PTAs in our schools provide so many services that it would be impossible to list them all. PTA members recruit and coordinate volunteers, provide enrichment opportunities, raise money for many worthy projects, keep parents informed through school newsletters, publish student writing, sponsor parent education activities, help orient incoming pupils and parents, provide refreshments at meetings, and assist staff members in a multitude of ways.

Professional Background

I am fortunate that my career path has given me exceptional experience and knowledge, which I am happy to share with my clients.

As a Bank Manager, I helped customers with their day to day banking. I helped them with their investing, with budgeting and with managing their credit. The skills I honed help me provide a well rounded approach to real estate, especially for a First Time Buyer.

As a Mortgage Account Executive, I had the ability to travel throughout NY state, meeting mortgage broker's and banker's. I had the great fortune to step into the role of Secretary for the Mortgage Banker's Association of Northeastern NY and learned volumes about the mortgage side of the real estate industry.

As a Mortgage Broker and Mortgage Banker, I got valuable hands-on experience in helping customers secure mortgage financing. Handling all facets of a mortgage transaction from qualification to appraisal to closing for over seven years, my mortgage background is one of my and my clients strongest assets.

As the Marketing Director for a mortgage company, I was in charge of designing and executing marketing campaigns for the company--an invaluable quality for my home sellers.

Professional Interests

A key ingredient to success--in any career--is to stay on the cutting edge of your field. Fortunately, I love to learn. That love of learning and desire to always do my best for my clients inspires me to take time each day to grow within my industry.

I spend time regularly taking stock of market statistics. There are markets and sub markets and knowing those details can be the difference between a seller getting the right price for their home or their home staying on the market overlong. They also can make or break an offer for a buyer.

Previewing properties on the market is an activity that I greatly enjoy and that brings another level of professionalism to my sellers and my buyers. I keep abreast of new properties in the market place and preview them every chance I get so that my finger is always on the pulse of our region.

Back to school isn't just for kids, either. Taking classes to learn about green building, new construction, how to better market properties for my sellers, or how to better customize my program for my buyer's is an integral part of what I do.
