Is your Door a Bore?

Doubtless you have heard the saying "You never get a second chance to make a first impression".  As a home seller, do you realize that the very first impression of your home is made by your front door?

Picture this--a real estate agent is showing your house to a potential buyer.  As the agent works the lockbox to get the key the buyers are waiting on the front step for the agent to open the door.  What are those buyer's doing while they wait?  What would you do? 

According to recent research, it takes only eight seconds for a buyer to decide if they are going to buy your home or not.  And at least four of those eight seconds are spent waiting at your front door.

Take a look at your front door with "buyer's eyes".  What do you see?  Some say that your front door should be between 1% and 2% of your home's total value.  So a $250,000 house should have a door ensemble that cost approximately $2500-$5000.
