Capital Region Bakeries for Cinnamon Rolls - CB Prime Properties

October 4th is National Cinnamon Bun Day. What better excuse to indulge in a warm, gooey treat filled with rich spices and topped drizzled with melty glaze? You could go to the store and get a tube of pre-made cinnamon rolls to bake up. Or you could indulge yourself a little by going to a local bakery or cafe that sells them fresh, hot, and homemade. The only question is, where do you find one? You've just moved to the area and don't know where things are. There are plenty of Albany homes for sale, but where do you go for cinnamon rolls near those homes? We've got your back. Here are five local cinnamon rolls you need to try in the Capital Region.

  1. Rolly-Poly Buns & Stuff - 30 Davis Ave., Albany, NY 12203.
Open from 4-10 pm on weekdays, and 11 am-10 pm on weekends, Rolly-Poly Buns & Stuff is a home bakery specializing in cinnamon buns and apple fritters, baked fresh in a cast-iron skillet. From simple flavors like classic cinnamon, maple pecan, and Ukrainian walnut to their "bougie buns" like lemon cardamom and pineapple upside-down, there's truly not a bad bun in the bunch. Buns are sold individually or in batches of five or 10 and must be ordered online, at least one day in advance.

  2. Different Blend Bakery - 3403 Carman Rd., Schenectady, NY 12303.
If you're looking at Schenectady homes for sale, you should check out Different Blend Bakery. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, the rest of the week, they serve up a wide variety of cakes, cookies, muffins, pastries, and more. They even sell frozen, unbaked cinnamon buns you can take home and prepare yourself at your leisure — which are miles better than the store-bought variety.

  3. The Placid Baker - 250 Broadway, Troy, NY 12180.
This delicious bakery is near these Troy homes for sale. In addition to cinnamon rolls, The Placid Baker has croissants, danishes, Kouign Aman, and much more — plus a wide assortment of breads. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 am-2 pm, you can also find them at the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market on Saturday mornings and the Delmar Farmers Market on Tuesday afternoons.

  4. Storied Coffee - 109 Mohawk Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
Seeking to connect people through the power of coffee, Storied Coffee is a great place to hang out near these Scotia homes for sale. Get there early because the cinnamon rolls are so popular they often sell out. However, they also have many other offerings, from brown sugar and cinnamon flavored coffees to cold brew to chai lattes and Thai iced teas.

  5. Manory's Restaurant. 99 Congress St., Troy, NY 12180
Manory's Restaurant and bakery has two slightly unusual but undeniably delicious cinnamon roll options. One is a grilled option, where the flaky, gooey cinnamon roll you love is grilled to golden perfection. The other is cinnamon roll French toast — sliced, battered, grilled, and served with butter, syrup, and powdered sugar. And that's just the beginning of what Manory's has to offer. Be sure to try their hand-spun milkshakes, in flavors like Fruity Pebbles, Brown Sugar Poptart, and PB&J. Open seven days a week, they serve breakfast all day, 8 am to 2 pm.
