Winter Carnivals and Events - Adirondack Region - CB Prime Properties

In the Adirondacks, every season is special in its own way. But the mountains really come alive in winter. It's one of our real estate agents' favorite times of year, as the whole region transforms into a winter sports haven and becomes a wonderland of twinkling holiday lights.

This is also the season that welcomes some of the year's most enjoyable carnivals and events. Be sure to check out these amazing winter carnivals in the Adirondacks this season!

  • Lake George Winter Carnival - Lake George Village, NY 12845
A monthlong celebration of all things wild and wintry, the Lake George Winter Carnival is the biggest bash of the year in the Adirondacks. The festivities take place across four consecutive weekends at various locations in and around Lake George Village, all just minutes from these Lake George homes for sale. This year, the festival kicks off with opening ceremonies at noon on Saturday, February 5th. After that, stick around for the chili cook-off, beachside bonfires, carnival parade, ice diving demonstrations, snowman contests, fireworks displays, and even car races on the frozen lake.

  • Indian Lake Snocade - Indian Lake, NY 12842
The folks in Indian Lake know a thing or two about snow. This year's Indian Lake Snocade festival lasts from February 17th through the 25th and offers a week packed with snow-centric events. In addition to live music, theater performances, and community dinners, the Snocade includes happenings that range from guided snowmobile trips and cardboard sled races to snowshoe softball and the annual frying pan toss.

  • Saranac Lake Winter Carnival - Saranac Lake, NY 12983
A tradition for over 120 years, the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival is the oldest event of its kind in the eastern U.S. It's been going strong since 1897 and shows no signs of slowing down. The upcoming iteration of the carnival takes place from February 3rd through 14th and will include the iconic ice castle on Saranac Lake that has become the event's hallmark. Construction on this massive structure begins as soon as there's enough ice to support it. You can also expect a host of local events and, as always, a spectacular fireworks display!

  • Saratoga Beer Week - Saratoga Springs, NY 12866
The village of Saratoga Springs hosts some of the best food and drink festivals in the Adirondacks—the annual Saratoga Chowderfest is also not to be missed—but Saratoga Beer Week is the true highlight. This event returns on February 22nd-26th, 2022, and includes plenty of fun and games, great food, and of course, a chance to sample some amazing beer. Saratoga Beer Week brings together some of the finest craft brewers from the Adirondack region and around the world. It all takes place in the heart of Saratoga Springs, within walking distance of many Saratoga Springs homes for sale.

  • Long Lake Winter Carnival - Long Lake, NY 14827
Some winter carnivals in the Adirondacks stretch out for weeks or even a month. But Long Lake stuffs its whole event into one long, action-packed day. It's quite a party! Now celebrating its 20th year, the upcoming Long Lake Winter Carnival takes place on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022. Starting with a snowmobile parade and coronation ceremony for this year's king and queen, the carnival includes sledding and ice skating, ice carving demonstrations, and a fireworks display to cap it all off. There's even some friendly competition in the form of the Ladies Frying Pan Toss and Men's Caber Toss.
