Some of you may be considering a move to the Capital District whether it be to Albany, Clifton Park, Loudonville, Burnt Hills, Saratoga Springs, Troy, Niskayuna, Schenectady...the list of cities and towns is long. What brings you here? Perhaps a job transfer? A son or daughter attending one of our fine colleges...Union, RPI, St. Rose, SUNY Albany? Are you moving back to the area to assist an elderly parent? Did you just have a new baby and want to be closer to family and friends?
Whatever reason brings you here - welcome home! As I have the opportunity to travel, I always find it amusing when the local people point out landmarks or tourist attractions to see but mention that they have never been there themselves. They always mean to go but just never seem to find the time.
The Capital District is a gold mine of beautiful and historic places to visit and enjoy. From the historic racetrack in Saratoga Springs to Proctor's Theater in downtown Schenectady, we have quite a few. We also have places though that people forget to mention. How about the planetarium on Nott Terrace in Schenectady? Looking for gorgeous gardens? Try Yaddo in Saratoga, Central Park in Schenectady or Union College.
On an early Spring day after showing homes, I took a ride to Washington Park and downtown Albany. To my delight the tulips were beginning to bloom and the beautiful flowering trees were showering the park with their majestic colors. Click the link and enjoy the view. I hope you will consider making our area your home and when you do, please step out and take advantage of every opportunity!
