New York State Report Cards

The New York State Report Cards provide enrollment, demographic, attendance, suspension, dropout, teacher, assessment, accountability, graduation rate, post-graduate plan, and fiscal data for public and charter schools, districts, and the State. The 2011-2012 report cards consist of three parts: The New York State Report Card, The New York State Accountability Report, and The Fiscal Accountability Supplement. For each reporting year, a companion database containing data statewide and by county, Need/Resource Capacity Index, district, and school in many of the above areas is also provided for statistical analysis purposes.



Personal Background

I grew up in Penfield, New York. It is a suburb of Rochester. I currently live in the Town of Clay, my mailing address is Liverpool and the school district is Cicero North Syracuse. Try explaining that to a young child, it took me a long time to figure that out when I first moved here. Statistics show people move on average every 7-10 years. We've lived in our current house 25 years. I've always talked about moving just never did it! I guess change is hard for me.

My husband Rob and I have a 16 year old boy and a 14 year old girl. Within the last two years we've added two small dogs to our family. I've told my teens if they aren't nice to us we are naming the dogs as our beneficiaries to our will.

Personal Interests

In my spare time you can find me watching my kids play soccer or lacrosse. We love to ski but I hate the cold! Anything Polartec is my favorite piece of clothing in the winter!

In the summer I love to walk, roller blade or just enjoy the outdoors.

Community Involvement

My family and I support various charities in the Syracuse area. Our prime involvement is with GiGi's Playhouse and the Samaritan Center.

GiGi's Playhouses are Down syndrome awareness and educational centers that provide resources, specialized teaching, and support to individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community. Syracuse is lucky enough to have a center in Drivers Village in North Syracuse.

The Samaritan Center is a 501c3, interfaith effort of community members committed to serving the hungry and those in need in order to promote their welfare dignity and self sufficiency.

How to get your home ready to sell

The one word to live by to sell your home is staging! I can't stress enough the importance of doing this if you want to sell your home quickly and  for the most money. I always tell my sellers, that buyers, want their homes to look like a page out of the Pottery Barn catalog. I think if you go on line to look at their rooms they are clean and simple. The style appeals to young and old alike. What this doesn't mean, you don't have to spend a lot of money or go out and redecorate. What it does mean is you need a clean neutral color scheme for your home. Your house has to have lots of light and simple accessories. Buyers need to picture themselves living in your home. When you simplify and pair down your home you can achieve this.

It is important to pack away all your "stuff" neatly. You are planning to move so start the process and pack up the things you don't use everyday. Make your cabinets neat and tidy and show all the storage your home offers. Put your boxes neatly in the garage. Buyers understand you are moving so they won't hold it against you if your garage holds all your boxes. Take down the family photos, you want buyers looking at the house not your last family party.
